About Rick

Because I believe that our experiences shape us in many ways, let me tell you a little more about what has shaped me into who I am today.

Born and raised near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I had a great childhood!  With loving and supportive parents, and 3 sisters that teased & harassed me just enough,  it was a relatively normal life, until my thirteenth year.  Three months after being diagnosed with lung cancer, my Dad passed away.  That experience - from watching an “indestructible” 160 lb. man waste away to 75 lbs, to how he and my mom handled it all, to my searching for answers for myself and others – dramatically shaped me into much of what I am today.  It was the foundation for the spiritual, caring, encouraging, optimistic man that I am today.

The next thirty years have been a mix of some great highs – working myself through college,  a B.A. in Communications, the birth & raising of two great kids, business successes and a lot of great relationships – and some lows – divorce, financial and business failures.

And all of it has led me to here!

After years of people telling me I should be a teacher, a pastor, a priest, a coach, a counselor… a close friend of mine told me about his coach training, and all that he loved about it… and BAM!, like the V-8 commercial, I felt a smack in the head that said “Hey moron!  That’s what you should be doing!”

So I listened to that voice, that spirit inside me.  I followed my heart and amazing things happened.  And are continuing to happen!

The educational and training background I've received to support my coaching includes:

In continuing this adventure of my life, I’m always open to connecting with others that resonate with who I am and what I do.  If you think that is you, let’s do a complimentary session together and see where that takes us.  (Check out my "Coffee with a Coach")

As a way to offer a sample of what coaching is and how I coach, ask me about my "Coffee with a Coach."  My availability changes, but I usually have time available one night a week and a Saturday or two each month,  specifically to offer someone like you just a "taste" of what coaching with me is like.

I’m sure if we get together, as is usually the case, I can learn a great deal from you.  And that fact that you have ended up here on this web site, at this time in your life, leads me to believe you will benefit from meeting me :-)
